Educational Assessments

APT offers a variety of options for assessing educational difficulties.

Educational Assessments consist of academic testing only. Results of testing reveal strengths and weaknesses in specific areas (clusters) of academic achievement including reading comprehension, written expression, oral listening and mathematics. The completed report offers test scores and interpretation of scores only. No diagnosis is offered at this level of assessment. Testing is usually completed in 1-2 sessions. Educational Assessments range from $200-$800 depending upon the number of academic clusters assessed.

Enhanced Educational Assessments consist of academic testing and intelligence testing. This provides examinees with information regarding both intellectual ability and current level of academic achievement. This is helpful in determining if a person is achieving in a manner consistent with global intellectual functioning. The completed report offers test scores and interpretation of scores only. No diagnosis is offered at this level of assessment. Results of an Enhanced Educational Assessment can be presented to schools in order to help determine eligibility for accommodations in the classroom setting. Testing is completed over 2-3 test sessions. Enhanced Educational Assessments range from $400 to $1000 depending on the number of academic clusters assessed.

Psycho-Educational Evaluations include intelligence testing, academic testing and a diagnostic interview. A DSM-5/ICD-10 diagnosis is offered if diagnostic criteria is met. Testing is completed over 2-3 test sessions. Psycho-Educational Evaluations range from $650 to $1250 depending upon the number of academic clusters assessed.

An Enhanced Psycho-Educational Evaluation includes intelligence testing, academic testing, diagnostic interview and other tests (ADHD testing, personality testing, etc.) determined by the referral question and presenting issue. This is the most comprehensive assessment of intelligence and learning offered by APT. The completed report consists of test scores and interpretation, historical information, assessment of current functioning and a diagnosis if results suggest a DSM-5/ICD-10 diagnosis is warranted. Testing can take 2-3 sessions and usually include an interview with the parent and teacher observations. Enhanced Psycho-Educational Evaluations range from $850 to $1450 depending upon the number of academic clusters assessed.

**Educational Assessments and Psycho-Educational Evaluations are not covered by Medicaid or commercial insurances and therefore cannot be billed to your insurance company. Health insurance companies do not consider Psycho-Educational and educational testing a medical service. Instead, they look at it as falling under the jurisdiction of education, and as such being the responsibility of either the child’s parents or sometimes the school district.

**Payment plans are not offered for Educational Assessments or Psycho-Educational Evaluations.
